Hi there, my name is Geo Davis

Research Associate

Geo Davis is a Research Associate at the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, working with Theodosia Stratoudaki on the EPSRC funded project ‘Remote, 3D ultrasonic imaging in extreme environments using 2D laser induced phased arrays’. At Strathclyde, Geo is involved in a variety of projects including developing and improving novel data acquisition methods that can adapt arrays to the needs of the inspection, automating the laser ultrasonic method for additive manufacturing and welding, and developing novel imaging methods for detection of near-surface defects using laser induced phased arrays. Geo has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering. Geo’s doctoral thesis is focussed on ultrasonic Lamb waves generated using a pattern source illuminated by a pulsed laser. Geo’s research interests include non-destructive testing and evaluation, laser ultrasonics, ultrasonic imaging, additive manufacturing.
