KTP Associate

Sumana joined as Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate at the University of Strathclyde and PEAK NDT Limited in January 2021. Her role is to understand and develop a focal law calculator for planar/nonplanar interface component compensation and inspection using phased array ultrasonics and also advanced Non-Planar Interface Imaging. 

She has a bachelor's degree in Computer science and a Master’s degree in Materials science from Mangalore University, India. Later, she pursued her integrated M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Engineering from Homi Bhabha National Institute and Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, India. Her Ph.D. study was aimed on Total Focusing Method (TFM) based phased array ultrasonic techniques for inspection of thick and attenuating components. 

In her free time, she is quite passionate to try new dishes, Mehendi designs, explore new places and listen to music.
