Arc Properties
To combine highly efficient PTA energy sources effectively with laser sources in a well-understood manner requires precise knowledge of the PTA arc characteristics (laser energy profiles are easily measured). This will be done using a split anode technique to measure the power density and a cooled copper pressure gauge will be used to measure arc pressure.
