I joined the NEWAM team as a research fellow in January 2019. I am now doing the fluid flow modelling of wire-based additive manufacture (WBAM). My work can help to better understanding the underlying mechanism in the WBAM process and optimizing the processing parameters. Before that, I had been doing the modelling of welding (arc, laser beam, and electron beam) and additive manufacturing (laser beam) in Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST, China) for six years. I got my Ph.D. degree HUST in September 2018. I have published 16 SCI papers since 2015, which have been read for 4693 times and been cited for 147 times (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Xin_Chen92). My research interest is heat transfer and fluid flow in welding and additive manufacture. In my spare time, I like reading and play Chinese chess.
