Hello there, I am James. I began my PhD at Cranfield University in September 2019. My research focus is the development of alloy-alloy composites using Wire + Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM). I graduated from the University of the West of England with a first class Bachelors (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering in June 2019. I have always had a keen interesting in motor racing and the challenges that exist with conventional design and manufacturing, which led to my Bachelors project entitled: The implementation of tubercles to Formula racing aerodynamic structures. I am certainly looking forward to the PhD journey and hopefully one day be able to implement WAAM in to the motorsport community.
