Hi there, my name is Rongdong Qu

PhD Student

Cranfield University

I am a PhD student in my first year at Cranfield University, doing wire shape effects study in additive manufacture. In the NEWAM programme, I’m focusing on improving the melting efficiency with shaped wire.

I graduated from INSA Rouen as a mechanical engineer and then pursued a master degree at Cranfield University in advanced materials. With the internship experience in the Chinese Academy of Sciences doing selective laser sintering (SLS), I found myself having an interest in additive manufacture so that I decided to do a PhD in this field.

In my free time, I’d like to read books, go long distance running, and go hiking. They help me to relax and have higher efficiency at work.
