Aluminium Alloy Development
Aluminium alloys are widely used in the aerospace sector because of their high specific strength. However, most conventional alloys were designed to be used with processes different from Wire bAsed Additive Manufacturing, and many are not suitable for WAAM. Preliminary work has been carried out to investigate new compositions to develop new aluminium high strength alloys designed for WAAM thought in situ alloying.
