Feedstock Melting and Transfer
To ensure a high deposition rate, a stable delivery and melting of feedstock is paramount. In this section, we investigate the fundamentals of melting solid wires and work on methods of improving their melting efficiency. Both instrumented experiments and numerical are carried out to understand the relationship between the feedstock and the heat source on melting efficiency in additive manufacture.
